One of the UK’s leading luxury homeware marketplaces has surveyed 4,000 members of the British public to find out which celebrity homes they’d most like to spend the lockdown period in.

The Beckhams’ Holland Park Mansion in London tops the list, with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s £49m Hidden Hills mansion and Drake’s custom-built 35,000 square-foot palace ‘The Embassy’, making up the top three.

The brand behind the research, Olivia’s, asked members of the public which celebrity homes they’d most like to self-isolate in. The research comes after the rise of a new trend dubbed ‘smugsolation’ which has seen influencers and celebrities showcase their isolation surroundings on social media.

Such posts from celebs including Ellen DeGeneres and Sam Smith, have been met with negativity from members of the public, for complaining about being confined to their home despite living in luxurious properties.

The five top celebrity homes people wish they could self-isolate in, plus their market value, are as follows:

  1. The Beckham’s Holland Park Mansion, London - £31.5m
  2. The Kardashian-West’s Hidden Hills Mansion, Los Angeles - £49m
  3. Drake’s ‘The Embassy’ mansion, Toronto - £81m
  4. Jay-Z and Beyonce’s Bel Air Compound, Los Angeles - £70.8m
  5. Adele’s Former Tudor Manor House, West Sussex - £4m

The Beckhams’ Holland Park Townhouse in London is rumoured to be worth £31.5m, and boasts six bedrooms, a home gym, wine cellar as well as a custom-made ‘style room’ for David and Victoria’s clothes. The family purchased the Grade II-listed building in 2013 and renovated it in 2016.

The Kardashian-Wests’ property spans 15,600 square-feet and has eight bedrooms and eight full bathrooms, in addition to a home theatre room. The couple bought the property in 2014 for roughly $20m, however it is now believed the home is worth upwards of $60m.

The third house on the list is Drake’s 35,000 square-foot home in Toronto, Canada. The most expensive building on the list, Drake had the house custom built having purchased the land in 2016. Titled ‘The Embassy’, Drake’s home is worth a rumoured £81m and features a full-size NBA regulation basketball court as well as a master suite that contains a hot tub, dressing room and kitchenette.

“As we all know, the current situation in the UK, and around the world is one which many of us have never experienced in our lifetimes before. Millions of people across the country are currently at home during the nationwide lockdown, and one thing we’ve seen a lot of on social media is people wishing they had more facilities available to them - many things these celebs have in their own homes!

“That’s why we decided to see which celebrity homes people in the UK wish they could spend the lockdown period in. It’s unsurprising to see celebrities like the Beckhams and Kardashians on the list, once you see their homes - I’m sure most people would love the chance to spend a few weeks at each property on the list - me included!”
