Are you planning your next holiday? If you’re seeking an adrenaline-fuelled, action-packed adventure, there are many destinations that are perfect for thrill-seekers.

To help you narrow your options, here’s a roundup of some of the must-visits that are sure to be exactly what you have in mind.

Austrian Alps

If you love nothing more than hurtling down the slopes, there are plenty of fast-paced winter sports to try in the Austrian Alps. Snowboarding and skiing are particularly popular between December and April, and it’s worth checking ahead to see how the snow season is shaping up ahead of your holiday. You can also take off your skis and head to the lakes to try kayaking and canoeing, which are some winter activities that are on offer.

Want to visit in the summer? Head out for a hike or go mountain biking for breathtaking experiences after the snow’s gone.

Garden Route, South Africa

Glorious landscapes and stunning scenery await when you travel the Garden Route, the 200km stretch from Mossel Bay in the west to Storms River in the east. Take things up a notch by trying shark cage diving off the coast of Gordons Bay, try white water rafting at Storms River, or try hiking the route.

For something sedate, you can try paddling up the Touw River, discover national parks and go whale watching. There are activities to suit different speeds here.

Canary Islands, Spain

If you love hiking, head to the Canary Islands. This is the perfect way to see some spectacular sites while you’re on the archipelago. Better still, you can do this on a shoestring as there are plenty of deals on cheap holidays available in the region.

In Tenerife, there are trails that take in the Chinyero Reserve and Teide National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over in La Palma, you can explore the Dragon Trees Forest and wander through tiny hamlets.

Water sports are popular across the islands. Try paragliding, jet skiing or go snorkelling for a thrilling experience.

Triglav National Park, Slovenia

Hit the road for an adventure in northwest Slovenia. Mount Triglav is the highest peak in the Julian Alps and you can master hairpin bends as you head to this captivating destination.

Known for its awe-inspiring trails and beautiful scenery, Triglav National Park is a must if you want to experience your visit on foot. From waterfalls and meandering streams to winding pathways that soar into the skies, there’s a lot to love about a holiday here.

Corsica, France

For a diverse holiday experience, Corsica offers an array of activities. Canyoning and hiking rove to be the biggest draw for adventure lovers, but you can head to the water and go snorkelling too.

This is a spectacular destination, featuring rough mountains, lush valleys and bustling seaside resorts. Balance full-on activities with days at the beach for the ultimate getaway.
