UK’s Most Romantic Filming Locations: Most Likely to Find Love
Two thirds of travellers have considered taking a trip after seeing the location featured on a movie or TV show, and with box office successes 'Anyone But You' and streaming hit 'The Idea of You,' rom-coms have made a notable resurgence, signalling a vibrant comeback for the genre.
Rom-coms not only offer a bright and warm viewing experience, but they also stimulate hormones like dopamine and oxytocin. This hormonal boost leaves us feeling more satisfied, making the locations of these films particularly appealing to visit, as they evoke sweet memories and happy endings.
With this in mind, BestCasinoSites.net sought to investigate where you are most likely to find love in some of the UK’s most popular rom-com filming spots. To do this, a list of the most romantic spots in the UK from our favourite rom-coms was created, and then Instagram was utilised to uncover the most popular.

You are most likely to find love by Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh with the popular spot boasting a total of 564,408 location tags and hashtags. Rom-com lovers will notably remember Arthur’s Seat as the spot Emma and Dex visit in ‘One Day’, in both the film adaption (2011), and the Netflix series (2024). The beautiful location is said to take the average person 1hr, 41min to climb to the top - what are you waiting for?
Ranking as the second most likely spot to find love, with 483,120 total Instagram location tags and hashtags, is the iconic Chatsworth House in Derbyshire. Chatsworth House was where Mr Darcy’s residence was filmed in the 2005 film ‘Pride and Prejudice’ - rumour has it that it is also said to be the inspiration in Jane Austen’s original novel.
Robin Hood’s Bay takes the third spot with 238,378 total impressions on Instagram and was featured beautifully in the 2014 WW1 memoir film ‘Testament of Youth’. Situated in North Yorkshire, Robin Hood’s Bay was used to shoot the scene when the protagonist Roland returns from war.
Rounding off the top 10 is Tara Hall with 689 total location tags and hashtags on Instagram. Tara Hall is situated in the coastal village of Howth, just a few miles from Dublin and is a boutique hotel where the overly-adored rom-com ‘Love Rosie’ was filmed and is where (spoiler alert!) that iconic climatic scene took place.
Honourable mentions that didn’t make the top 10, but remain a must-see for rom-com lovers include Longford Castle in Salisbury (375 Instagram impressions) can be seen at the end of ‘Princess Diaries’ as The Palace of Genovia and of course, Porthpean House in Cornwall (280 Instagram impressions) from the universally loved ‘About Time’ - which you can stay at and even have your wedding there like Mary and Tim.
