The Top 20 Air Punch Moments

A new nationwide study by webuyanycar has revealed Brits top ‘air punch’ moments, with winning on a scratch card (51 percent) and getting a tax rebate (38 percent) both high on the list.

Logging off before a bank holiday weekend (25 percent) and the sun coming out for your BBQ (38 percent) are further small wins for Brits, while football team wins (25 percent) and your children’s school achievements (25 percent) also have a place in the top twenty.

Beating your personal best at the gym (18 percent), washing everything in the laundry basket (15 percent) and nailing a recipe first time round were also big wins for busy Brits (12 percent).

The study found that the average Brit has 11 air punch moments a week, yet we don’t always physically punch the air, according to the poll. 

Richard Evans, head of technical services at webuyanycar, said: “It is great to see that the range of moments, the nation feels deserve a punch in the air. It seems, particularly at the moment, it is more important than ever to celebrate when something good happens.

Family (50 percent), personal achievements (21 percent) and health and fitness (six percent) are the main reasons for raising your hands with joy.

Two thirds (61 percent) believe that small life triumphs are as significant as life changing ones, while three quarters (74 percent) think that in the current times, it is more important than ever to celebrate good moments.

Nearly three quarters (68 percent) of the nation love to see people celebrate their successes, with a further half (49 percent) admitting that people who punch the air seem like fun people to be around.

One in three (33 percent) admit that they can’t help acknowledging it when something good happens.
