K-Pop Band BTS’ Song ‘Home’ is Putting the World to Sleep

Have you ever wanted to know what people listen to in order to fall asleep? Well, Mattressman has delved into 5,000 tracks that were added to public sleep playlists on Spotify to find out what songs, albums and singers people listen to to help them snooze off.

The most popular song that was stumbled across in the research is HOME by k-pop band, BTS. The song was released in 2019, and has since received over 200 million streams on Spotify to-date.

However, it’s Billie Eilish who had the most songs featured, making her the top artist featured, and the artist mostly listened to for helping us fall asleep.

Out of all the playlists analysed, predominantly playlists with ‘sleep’ and ‘sleeping’ in the title, the top ten musicians that are sending people to sleep, are:

1.     Billie Eilish

2.     BTS

3.     XXXTENTACION

4.     Taylor Swift

5.     Lewis Capaldi

6.     Olivia Rodrigo

7.     Tate McRae

8.     Adele

9.     Harry Styles

10.   James Arthur

And the most common bedtime songs, other than HOME by BTS, include:

1.     HOME – BTS

2.     changes – XXXTENTACION

3.     IDK You Yet – Alexander 23

4.     Forever – ilyTOMMY

5.     All I Want – Olivia Rodrigo

6.     you were good to me – Jeremy Zucker

7.     Broken – Anson Seabra

8.     Heather - Conan Gray

9.     when the party’s over – Billie Eilish

10.   happier – Olivia Rodrigo

Different types of songs can also alter our hormone levels. For example, listening to uplifting and happy songs is said to boost serotonin levels. Although, we all have a different idea of ‘happy’, so one song may not affect you the same will it will affect your mum, brother or best friend.

According to Sleep Advisor, as long as you’re choosing song that make you happy and feel relaxed, then you should fall asleep quicker, and get a better night’s rest for doing so.
