The top 15 shows we want rebooted this year
This year has already treated us to many exciting reboot announcements, from Sex and The City revealing another series, a Peaky Blinders film promised and the action comedy film, Mr and Mrs Smith, being rebooted as a series for Amazon Prime.
But what are the shows that we’re all desperate to see make a comeback? Money.co.uk has analysed search data for the last 12 months, looking at the top rated and most popular TV shows according to IMDb, to reveal the 15 shows we really want to see back on our screens. Is your favourite high up on the list?
1. Vampire Diaries

Last season: 2017
With over 12,000 reboot related searches a month, Vampire Diaries comes out as the top show people most want to see return to their screens. The show managed to exist for two more seasons after the main character Elena (played by Nina Dobrev) left the show. Seems people can’t get enough of this supernatural teen drama.
2. Sherlock

Coming in a close second is Sherlock, with over 9,350 monthly reboot searches. And while there have been teasers there may be a reboot brewing, nothing has been confirmed, but everyone wants more Cumberbatch.
3. Fleabag

Last season: 2019
No surprise this award-winning comedy series is still on everyone’s minds. Creator and star, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, made something special and over 9,000 people are searching for news of a reboot each month.
4. Suits
IMDb Rating: 8.5
Seasons: 9
Last season: 2019
In fourth place is Suits, a drama based on a group of lawyers. Even though over 4,500 people are searching for reboot hope each month, makers of the show have officially stated there won’t be another season.
5. Homeland

Last season: 2020
This hit show’s finale only went live in 2020 but over 4,000 people are already looking for whether there will be another chapter in the show’s story.
6. Breaking Bad

Seasons: 5
Last season: 2013
No surprise that Breaking Bad makes the list. Although people have had the much-loved sequel, Better Call Saul, over 4,000 people would still like to see the original make a comeback.
7. Peep Show

This cult classic has been around since 2003. Over 3,000 people want more of its iconic British humour and intense first person perspective.
8. Sons of Anarchy

Last season: 2014
Finishing in 2014 with a total of seven seasons, this American action crime drama is high up (over 2,400 searches) on people’s “please reboot” list.
9. Band of Brothers

The oldest show on the list, the American war drama, Band of Brothers has 1,890 people looking for its reboot each month.
10. Downton Abbey

Seasons: 6
Last season: 2016
Set in beautiful Yorkshire at a country estate, Downton Abbey was an adored British costume drama. 1,410 people are searching for its return monthly.
11. New Girl
