Weddings revealed as the most stressful life event for over 1 in 4 brides
According to the survey, 84% of brides report feeling stressed ahead of and during their big day, with over a quarter deeming it the most stressful event of their lives.
Nearly half (45%) of brides identified guest lists as the most stressful aspect of wedding planning. This finding highlights the challenges couples face when navigating family and friends politics and deciding who to invite to their celebration.
Furthermore, financial concerns weigh heavily on many couples, with 26% of Brits expressing stress over staying within their wedding budget.
74% of brides admitted to exceeding their budget, exacerbating the stress and anxiety surrounding the big day even further.
Despite the desire for support, a staggering 79% of brides reported that they planned everything for their big day themselves, without assistance from friends, family, or professionals.
Tragically, 40% of respondents admitted to feeling overwhelmed and admitted they needed more support during the planning process.
Gilchrist Collection recognises the immense challenges faced by couples embarking on their wedding planning journey and have launched their new platform in response - Gilchrist Brides Club.
Gilchrist Brides Club aims to act as a learning guide for brides and grooms who don't want their wedding planning to be stressful.
The new platform features a video lead course from Gilchrist Collection CEO and wedding expert Samantha Gilchrist, with a step-by-step guide on how to plan your wedding.
Samantha Gilchrist says:
“I’m so excited to offer this course for anyone planning a wedding. Most people have never planned an event like this before and often feel without the support they need. That's where we step in!
“Gilchrist Brides Club will walk you through wedding planning, with videos about everything from how to make a guest list, to what suppliers you will need and how to stay on budget.”
“There are lots of tools online claiming to help brides with planning, but this one truly puts the power back into their hands by enabling them to make more informed decisions about their big day.”
