The most optimistic UK towns and cities revealed
A new study has revealed that Blackpool is the most optimistic area in the UK based on current postcode lottery entry data from Pick My Postcode.
Online slots website Amazonslots.com ranked the most optimistic areas in the UK by calculating the percentage of each local authority’s total households that are currently signed up to Pick My Postcode.
Blackpool is the most optimistic area in the UK by percentage of Pick My Postcode entries. 26.9% of its households are entered into the Pick My Postcode lottery, with more than half (55%) of its postcodes participating. The Blackpool postcode with the most entries is FY1 6JD.
Torbay ranks as the second most optimistic area, with 21.7% of its households participating in the Pick my Postcode lottery. The area in southwest England has 51% of all its listed postcodes entered into the Pick My Postcode lottery.
With 20.9% of its 64,800 households participating in the Pick My Postcode lottery, the Isle of Wight ranks as the third most optimistic area in the UK. 52% of the area’s postcodes are registered for the lottery, and PO36 9NY is the postcode with the highest number of entries.
Plymouth closely follows the Isle of Wight and ranks fourth on the list, with 20.8% of its 114,600 households participating in the postcode lottery. The port city has 52% of its postcodes represented in the Pick My Postcode lottery, with 49 entries from its most active postcode, PL5 1DT.
With 20.2% of its households participating in the lottery, Gosport ranks fifth. The southeast England town has 59% of its postcodes represented in the lottery, with the highest number of entries from PO13 0LQ.
Hyndburn ranks sixth, with 18.6% of its 34,800 households participating in the postcode lottery. 53% of its postcodes are represented in the lottery.
Ards & North Down ranks seventh, with 18.61% of the Northern Irish area’s households participating in the Pick My Postcode lottery.
Halton ranks eighth, with 18.4% of its 56,000 households participating in the Pick My Postcode lottery. Telford and Wrekin ranks ninth with a 17.8% participation rate.
Portsmouth closely follows Telford and Wrekin and is the tenth most optimistic area, with 17.7% of its households entered into the Pick My Postcode lottery.
The London borough of Kensington and Chelsea is the area with the lowest participation rate in the Pick My Postcode lottery. The royal borough only has 4.7% of its 66,900 households participating in the lottery.
